We offer two types of licenses: free and paid.

●   FREE license model

Academic for the use of not-for-profit research

EzBioCloud’s 16S database can be freely obtained for all academic users engaged in strictly not-for-profit research, as long as they agree to the license request form (below) and license agreement form in its entirety.

This license is valid for one year only, starting on the day our database is sent to the user. Users with expiring or expired licenses must renew their license yearly, which will remain free if sufficient academic or institutional affiliations are maintained and not-for-profit purposes remain.

To apply for EzBioCloud’s 16S database license, please complete the license request form below, choosing the ‘academic for the use of not-for-profit research’ option.
We will reply each applicant by email in the order that they are received.

Please note that to qualify for our free license, all the conditions below should be met:
- Your primary affiliation must be academic. If you are jointly appointed by multiple institutions, your primary affiliation should be academic.
For example, if you are jointly appointed by both a university and a government research institution, the majority of your salary must come from an academic institute.
- Your research must be not-for-profit. If you are engaged in a commercially sponsored project, you are not entitled for free license.
- You should never, under any circumstances, copy, distribute, or sell EzBioCloud's 16S database.

●   PAID license model

EzBioCloud’s 16S database license for any for-profit applications requires the user to purchase a license. Paid licenses are further divided into three categories:
1. Academic for the use of for-profit research
2. Non-profit research institute or government organization
3. For-profit institutions/companies

The pricing of each license and its subsequent renewal(s) is subject to change depending on the institution and its purposes. Special offer is available to those in academic for-profit and non-profit institutions. For further details, please complete the license request form below, choosing the appropriate license type. We will reply each applicant by email in the order that they are received.
